Pocket Rockets – Ages 2 to 5 years

A combination class of jazz, tap, hip hop, singing, music and a whole lot of fun! Students are introduced to the fundamentals of dance technique while playing with the parachute, singing karaoke and dancing up a storm with disco lights! Laying a strong foundation for the future, these are very special classes as this is where our little stars are born!

Budding Ballerinas – Ages 2 – 5 years

Learn all the basic elements of classical dance while your little one enjoys using the ribbons, fairy wings, tiaras and of course their imagination! Our Budding Ballerinas classes give toddlers to preschoolers the chance to learn to dance, gain confidence and shine. All classes are taught in a fun, caring and supportive environment.

Jazz Classes – Ages 5 years to adult

Jazz is an exciting and ever evolving dance form. We encourage individual style and expression whilst focusing on developing technique, and movement with an emphasis on style, rhythm and proper execution of body isolations, line and progressions. These classes also encompass elements of commercial jazz which you see in the music and entertainment industry today.

Ballet & Lyrical – Ages 5 years to adult

These classes are suitable for beginners to intermediates and will cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique and contemporary / lyrical dance. It is a more formal setting that will give students the discipline to mature as dancers; teaching the importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorisation. Students perform both lyrical and classical ballet routines in our end of year performance. RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Exams are optional.

Hip Hop – Ages 5 years to Adult

A high-energy class to music from R&B and House to Club and Pop genres. Our classes teach movement and hip hop technique filled with popping, locking and breaking as well as freestyle movement. In these classes, your child will be encouraged to develop their sense of movement and rhythm to the latest rap, rnb and hip hop songs. They will enjoy working out and getting fit in a friendly social environment while learning a range of skills from basic movement to more technical moves.

Contemporary – Ages 13 years & over

Contemporary is a style of artist, creative and expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, classical ballet floor work, agility, story telling and physical theatre. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.

Musical Theatre – Ages 5 years & over

Our Musical Theatre program teaches song, dance and drama in one class. Focusing on popular and traditional musicals, the lessons guide the students through learning the lyrics, vocal training, singing, acting scenes and performing choreography. Open to all skill levels, the musical theatre classes are fun and a great way to become a triple threat performer!

Performance Dance Teams – Ages 8 years and over

The Element Dance Performance Team is a program for those dancers wishing to pursue dance a little more seriously, and participate in additional performances and competitions. The Dance Team is an invite only program. Once invited, the dancers are required to maintain certain requirements. We aim to teach our dancers to respect themselves and others, work as a team, motivate each other, set goals and be responsible. These classes encompass technical jazz, pom, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop styles. Dancers must also be enrolled in another class (either jazz or ballet) at Element. The dance team must also be the student’s NUMBER ONE AFTER SCHOOL activity.

Adult Classes – 18 years and over

This class is appropriate for all dance and fitness levels. Every class you will learn a new combination in a range of styles and genres while working on stretching, strengthening and cardio. This is a great class if you are a beginner or if you want to get back into dancing. This is a drop-in class, so no need to book or pay for the term in advance.

Private Lessons – All Ages

Private lessons are available for choreography, technique, missed classes, group or partner stunting and tumbling. Bookings are essential and must only be scheduled through Miss Jill at our office.

UNIFORM AND CLASS ATTIRE

What to wear during class?

Pocket Rockets – Comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Jazz and tap shoes are desirable but not compulsory. You can purchase the Pocket Rockets uniforms from $20.00

Budding Ballerinas – Every ballet dancer wants to feel special. Leotards, wrap skirts and ballet shoes not only look great but they help the teacher correct lines and see body movement. Please try not to wear over the top costumes, we will leave them for our performances! You can purchase the Budding Ballerinas uniforms from $20.00

All Jazz Classes – Tan jazz shoes, and fitness style attire. Tights, singlets, shorts and   leotards are all suitable. A range of Element uniforms are available to purchase.

Ballet & Lyrical classes – Pink ballet flats, ballet tights and leotard (any colour) Ballet skirts (not tutus) leggings, crop or warm up tops are all suitable. Correct colour attire must be worn if completing RAD exams.

Dance Teams – Tan jazz shoes, and fitness style attire. Tights, singlets, shorts and leotards are all suitable. Element studio competition warm up uniform is compulsory for all dance team members to purchase.

Cheerleading & Tumble – Cheer shoes (to be approved by your coach) Shorts, crop top or singlet and training bow. Competition uniform is compulsory for athletes who will be competing in 2023 and performing in the annual concert. This uniform will be the same for 2 seasons (2023 & 2024) The uniform costs from $150.

Hip Hop – Specific Street style footwear (runners etc) Comfortable fitness attire.

Musical Theatre – Tan jazz shoes, and fitness style attire. Tights, singlets, shorts and leotards are all suitable. Element warm up uniform is available.

Contemporary – No footwear required. Tights, singlets, shorts and leotards are all suitable. Element warm up uniform is available.

All students must have long hair tied back off the face for all classes and must remove all jewellery (including earrings) prior to each training session. Fingernails must be kept short at all times.
